***** A True Ocean and Coastal Cruising Yacht with Full Live Aboard *****

"Rosinante" is a traditional carvel planked cutter rigged ketch of Jock Muir design.

38 ft on deck (LOA) / 8 ft bowsprit / LWL 29ft 6

Very seaworthy, sailed to NZ, Tasmania, Papua New Guinea and Sydney. She underwent major renovations in 2009 through top 2012, being strippedback completely to timbers, keel dropped, complete paint, new sails,
including furler from Almasts of Launceston Tasmania. Has been maintained regularly since, and sailed within Port Phillip bay.

The standing rigging is well over 10 years old, though is heavily rigged, and as a ketch, with shorter masts, is
well unstrained. There are bronze highfield levers rigged to stays mounted at the mast behind the head of the staysail, which is self tacking.

Rosinante is a 12.5 ton heavy displacement sea kindly vessel and tracks straight and solidly through seas when trimmed to task. Though her weight is felt in stability, she is no lugger and makes 7 knots in good winds.
Whilst no show pony, this is a working yacht with an attractive and formidable rising sheer, and a great deal of character, from a time sadly passed.
